another year, another challenge

Opening salvo for the year 2009 for the Maharlika Toastmasters Club. And what better way to start the year than having DTM Aida host the meeting. The club is still obviously reeling from the uber long vacation of 2008 so the attendance was a bit down. But the good news was there were four guests and all, save for one, were Toastmasters.

The Prepared Speech Contest for the club was held that evening too. President Mely and VP-PR Mimi battled it out for the right to represent the club in the Area 12 Speech Contest. In the end, Mely proved to be too youthful to be challenged so she'll represent Maharlika.

Maharlika also welcomes the return of the very pregnant Jan and CCNA Vivian after a long hiatus away from the Tuesday meetings.
