philippine political characters

CC Peter's turn once again as Toastmaster of the Evening and he thought of bringing the politician within every member of the Maharlika Toastmasters Club so he selected the theme "Philippine Political Characters". One of the more comical parts of Philippine culture is its politics as well as its politicians so to add more laughter to the night's meetings, each member must select his/her own political character as their alter ego.

Erika marked her return to the club after a long absence due to an operation by being the Table Topics master. She chose a semi-debate format for her topics as she chose four participants; two each for the positive and the negative side. The first question on whether or not the country can curb corruption sooner or later is a tough proposition but President Mely and VP Membership Edvil explained each of their arguments wonderfully. The other argument was whether the country's nurses be required to tender two years of service to the country as nurses before leaving for greener pastures abroad. DTM Aida and TM Lala each gave their statements and they pointed out their reasons for agreeing or disagreeing with the statement.

Two prepared speakers delivered their respective speech projects starting with Anthony Bautista of the Manila Bay Toastmasters Club. TM Bobby of Maharlika then gave his speech project number 8. Area 14 Governor Dennis Gavino served as General Evaluator for the meeting.

Three new Maharlikans were also inducted. They are TM Bobby, TM Lala, and TM Weana.
